On 12th July, right after the full moon day of Waso, Ooredoo Myanmar held their first Waso Robe Donation Ceremony at their office in MICT Park. The ceremony was started with The Recitations of Dhamma Cakka by venerable nuns from Chan Myae Gone Wai Nunnery.
After that, nine venerable monks led by the lecturer of The International Theravãda Buddhist Missionary University, Venerable Bhaddanta Ashin Pan Dita and the acting rector of Buddhist University Yangon, Venerable Bhaddanta Ashin Wimala granted the five precepts, the Buddhist Golden Rules to the audience of Myanmar national staff members and international expatriates followed by the Dhamma talk both in Pali and in English. During the ceremony, Venerable Bhaddanta Ashin Pan Dita explained about the waso robe donation and the merit Ooredoo Myanmar family members would attain.
After the audience share their merits in both languages, the ceremony came to an end with the donations of robes to nine venerable monks and nun attires to nine venerable nuns together with Myanmar traditional lunch and desserts.
Venerable Bhaddanta Ashin Pan Dita, the lecturer of The International Theravãda Buddhist Missionary University said, “On behalf of the whole sangha , we would like express our pleasure to be here today and wish happiness, good health and success to all Ooredoo Myanmar family members.”
Ross Cormack, CEO of Ooredoo Myanmar said, “Ooredoo Myanmar represents Myanmar nationals who value and follow their traditional practises. We are very honoured that very respected monks and nuns visited our office to accept our donations today.”
The office tour of the nine venerable monks was accompanied by Ross Cormack, CEO of Ooredoo Myanmar and U Myint Zaw, the Regional Sales Director of Ooredoo Myanmar. During the office tour, venerable monks were greeted respectfully by Ooredoo employees and they enjoyed the test calls of the Ooredoo 3G network.
